A year and a half ago we had a big struggle getting FG-X updated to 64bit, but when we finally did, it was a happy occasion because it allowed Fabrice to have more time to accomplish the goal of our FG-X 2 mission. We get a lot of questions about FG-X 2, so I wanted to get everyone an update. I got this e-mail from sLate Digital today. I'm sure nobody here has ever found themselves in the position where something they've worked on was supposed to be released has been delayed and now is over-hyped and over-due? Yeah, I thought so. If you've found other solutions in the past few years, use them and move on. FG-X 1.0 is amazing, its not like it somehow became LESS GOOD.

I must say the 480 reverb is amazing and un-replaceable (and yes, I own all the Valhalla verbs.)īut to people complaining about FG-X 2.0.Wow, talk about looking a gift-horse in the mouth.

I agree with you, Jonathan, for the most part. We'll have to see what new stuff comes out.To be honest, I'm a bit disappointed so far in the "new" stuff we don't need yet another EQ and yet another need functional stuff, like a gate, a delay, etc. it's not worth $300/year to me, nor is it worth buying all the new stuff outright. But the newer stuff.i think the "Custom" EQs are nothing special, the "Bomber" sounds noticeably bad most of the time, the Relab 480 verb usually loses out to the $50 Valhalla verbs.Īt the end of this year i'm gonna buy the default Mix Rack stuff, and then be done w/ Slate.
